Privacy policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Who is responsible
This site, shouldyoupoppimples.com, operates on its own and takes care of the personal data this page covers. For anything about your data, email privacy@shouldyoupoppimples.com.
What we keep track of
- Visit numbers: pages seen, the referring page, time spent, scroll depth, taps and clicks on links and buttons, plus device facts like screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Your pop check answers: worked out on your own device; they never reach us.
- Hosting logs: our host keeps IP addresses, browser types and requested pages for security and uptime.
Counting visits
Visit numbers go from your browser to our endpoint /api/drop, which hands them to an analytics provider (EU) with servers in the European Union. Your IP address travels with them so a rough place (country, city) can be estimated. One visit's pages are linked by a random code held in session storage, which is erased when the tab closes, so different visits stay unconnected. There are no statistics cookies. In the EU, nothing is counted until you choose "Allow".
The analysis link
"Start my analysis" and similar buttons pass through shouldyoupoppimples.com/pop-check before arriving at acne.today, an independent paid service. The link carries which site and which button you used. Photos, answers and payments you give acne.today are covered by acne.today's own privacy policy.
Our reasons
- EU visit numbers: your consent. Change it whenever you like with "Statistics choice" in the home page footer.
- Other visit numbers and hosting logs: our legitimate interest in a secure, working site.
- Your emails: so we can reply.
Stored in your browser
| Key | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| ppCount | Your reply to the statistics question. Local storage, stays on your device. | Until cleared |
| ppShade | Light or dark mode, when you choose one. Local storage. | Until cleared |
| ppDock | Notes that you closed the bottom bar. Session storage. | Until the tab closes |
| _l_d, _l_s, _l_n, _l_z | Random visit code and page counter for visit numbers. Session storage, no cookie. | Until the tab closes |
Keeping periods
Hosting logs: 90 days or less. Emails: only while we help you, two years at the most.
Sharing
Only with the analytics provider and our host, and only what each one needs. We don't sell data.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your data, ask us to restrict its use, or object to it. Email privacy@shouldyoupoppimples.com; we reply within four weeks. You can also take a complaint to your local data protection authority.
